Humacao, Puerto Rico - After months of production, Pevafersa America announced the successful completion and delivery of a 192 Kw BIPV project for the Bay Area Rapid Transit System located at Union City, California. The project is the first of many that are expected to be served from Pevafersa America plant to the US market.
Pevafersa America is one of the 9 PV module manufacturing companies in the United States that comply with the “Buy American” clause under ARRA. “Since our modules are manufactured in Puerto Rico, they comply under the clause”, mentioned Luis Mayoral, Sales & Marketing Director of PAI.
Glass-Glass PV Module – IP-230-GG was specifically manufactured following the project architect’s design and specifications and was certified by Intertek under UL 1703.
This model consists of 96 monocrystalline cells inside two 8mm tempered glass and a weight of approximately 200 lbs and output power of 200w; other sizes available range from 190w to 235w ; this module was designed to be used as a canopy on a bus station at Union City, California.
“We have the capability and flexibility to adapt our technology to most architectural designs achieving more or less transparency according to the needs of the project” said Eng. Mario Cantoral, Pevafersa America’s Plant Engineer.
